Pavel is the head of the Department of
Biology of the Cell
Nucleus IMG AS CR, and he is a professor in medical biology of the
Charles University in Prague. His main interests are biology of the
cell nucleus, regulation of gene expression, and development of new
microscopy techniques. He published over sixty original papers in
journals including Cell, Science, Nature Cell Biol. He is also the
president of the Czechoslovak Microscopy Society, president of the
Society for Histochemistry (Europe), and a member of the executive
committee of European Microscopy Society.
